I would NEVER have guessed.
The smiles, the snuggles, the adorable expressions. He was perfect.
He honored me and my camera with deep, peaceful gazes, sweet smiles, and a very modest amount of spit-up.
So it shocked me to learn only at the end of his family’s Newborn session that he had pretty much been up all night and inconsolable.
Up until five minutes before they left the house, his parents imagined that there was no way their sweet Newborn baby boy would be camera-ready. They wondered if they should just cancel.
I’m beyond glad they didn’t because look at the results! Aren’t these three absolutely adorable?
It’s likely because Erin and Nick are fantastic parents who love their baby through the ups and downs of infant moods and energy levels. They work together, supporting each other as they care for him. It touched me to witness it.
Besides this little guy rallying for a stellar portrait session, I’m impressed that his tired parents never let on how wiped out they were either! After all, newborns tend to be way more resilient than us adults when sleepless. But Erin and Nick were capable, willing, and cheerful collaborators throughout the session.
Fortunately, it marked the beginning of much better sleep for this lovable family! 🥳 It was well deserved.
